Brenda Ezell, managing shareholder of the Ezell Law Firm, is board certified in Real Estate Law by The Florida Bar. Ms. Ezell acts as counsel to buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants, developers, lenders, borrowers, and agencies at all levels of government in various types of commercial real estate and regulatory transactions.

Ms. Ezell’s areas of expertise include commercial real estate transactions such as purchase and sale, leasing, lending and title insurance, as well as regulatory matters such as zoning and land development, easements, covenants and restrictions, and corporate and business association law. She also has substantial experience with municipal and public finance transactions, low-income elderly and multifamily housing programs, and community redevelopment programs.

A summa cum laude graduate of Jacksonville University, Ms. Ezell earned her J.D. with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Jacksonville Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Executive Council of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, where she formerly served as Chair of the Real Estate Leasing Committee and Chair of the 2021 and 2022 Legislative and Caselaw Update Seminar Committee. She is also active in the Jacksonville Area Real Estate Council, of which she is a board member and past president.

Ms. Ezell is a past president and current board member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Jacksonville, a local affiliate of CREW Network, a global alliance of over 11,000 commercial real estate professionals. In addition to local service for CREW Network, she is currently a member of the CREW Network Finance Committee. Additionally, Ms. Ezell is a member of the Bold City (FL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and serves as a director on the boards of ElderSource, The Empowered Kitchen and Growing Great Girls, Inc. She is a former member of the Board of Directors and Board of Governors for JAXChamber, the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce, and a former board member and board chair of OneJax (formerly NCCJ, the successor organization to the National Coalition of Christians & Jews).

For her community and professional service, Ms. Ezell has received numerous honors, including being selected to the inaugural Fellowship Class of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar in 2008 and as a Florida Bar Leadership Academy Fellow for its inaugural class in 2013. In 2012, she was named a Jacksonville Business Journal “Woman of Influence,” and in 2018, she was named one of Jacksonville University’s “80 Dolphins to Know.”

Most recently, Ms. Ezell was awarded the RPPTL Section’s 2018-2019 Rising Star Award. In 2021, CREW Jacksonville awarded her the Beth M. Lipko Spirit Award given annually to a CREW Jacksonville member who consistently demonstrates a commitment to providing referrals, member recruitment, and committee and community involvement. Ms. Ezell has also been recognized annually for excellence by her peers in Best Lawyers® since 2020 and Super Lawyers® since 2019.

Ms. Ezell is married, with two adult children and a rescue dog. The Detroit native and proud U.S. Army veteran enjoys travel, cooking and DIY home renovation, personal fitness, college and professional football, and collecting and raising tropical marine fish.
