Brenda Ezell, founding shareholder of the Ezell Law Firm, is board certified in Real Estate Law by The Florida Bar. Ms. Ezell acts as counsel to buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants, developers, lenders, borrowers, and agencies at all levels of government in various types of commercial real estate and regulatory transactions.

Her areas of expertise include commercial real estate transactions such as purchase and sale, leasing, lending and title insurance, as well as regulatory matters such as zoning and land development, easements and servitudes, covenants and restrictions, and corporate and business association law. Ms. Ezell also has substantial experience with business and public finance transactions, low-income elderly and multifamily housing programs, and community redevelopment programs including tax incentives and tax-exempt financing.

summa cum laude graduate of Jacksonville University, Ms. Ezell earned her J.D. with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Jacksonville Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the D.W. Perkins Bar Association, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, and the Executive Council of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, where she currently serves as Director of At-Large Members and is former chair of the Real Estate Leasing Committee and the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Legislative and Caselaw Update Seminar Committees, among other notable appointments. She is a regular lecturer at the annual Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section’s Advanced Real Property Certification Review Course.

Ms. Ezell is a past president, former board member, and current member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Jacksonville, a local affiliate of CREW Network, a global association of over 11,000 commercial real estate professionals, and served on its National Finance Committee during fiscal year 2022-2023. Her extensive record of community service includes membership  in the Bold City (FL) Chapter of the Links Incorporated.

She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Wise Owl Properties, Inc. and Girls, Inc.-Jacksonville, and she formerly served on the Board of Directors and Board of Governors for the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce (JAXChamber), as well as the boards of numerous other local non-profit organizations including ElderSource, Lutheran Social Services, Habitat for Humanity, OneJax, and the Jacksonville Area Real Estate Council.

A four-time recipient of The Florida Bar’s Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award, Ms. Ezell has received numerous other professional honors. She was selected to the inaugural Fellowship Class of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar in 2008 and named a Florida Bar Leadership Academy Fellow in 2013. In 2012, she was designated a Jacksonville Business Journal “Woman of Influence,” and in 2018, she was named one of Jacksonville University’s 80 Dolphins to Know.  She was awarded the RPPTL Section’s 2018-2019 Rising Star Award, and has been recognized by Best Lawyers® from 2020-2025, Best Law Firms® from 2023-2025 and Super Lawyers® from 2019 through 2025.

Ms. Ezell is a Detroit native and U.S. Army veteran (Beat Navy!), has two adult children, and two adorable young grandsons who affectionately refer to her as BiBi. Her hobbies include travel, cooking, personal fitness, college and professional sports, and collecting and raising tropical marine fish.
