  • Ezell Again Named One of America’s Best Lawyers

Brenda Ezell has been named by her peers as one of America’s best lawyers for the fourth consecutive year. The managing shareholder of her firm, Ezell is included in the 29th edition of The Best Lawyers in America© in real estate law. Other honors for the Jacksonville-based lawyer this year have included being selected as a Florida Super Lawyer, also for the fourth time.

“I am honored by this recognition,” said Ezell, who is board certified by The Florida Bar in Real Estate Law, “and grateful to our wonderful clients, who make it a pleasure to come to work each day.”

Widely regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence, Best Lawyers is based entirely on peer review by lawyers in the same geographic region and practice areas. The 2023 review process analyzed more than 12.2 million votes to identify the top legal talent, recognizing only 5.3% of lawyers in private practice nationwide.

A Detroit native and proud U.S. Army veteran, Ezell is a summa cum laude graduate of Jacksonville University who earned her J.D. with honors from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. She is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Executive Council of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, where she serves as Chair of the Real Estate Leasing Committee and Chair of the Legislative and Caselaw Update Seminar Committee. She is also active in the Jacksonville Area Real Estate Council, of which she is a board member and past president, and is a past president, former board member, and current DEI Committee Member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Jacksonville, a local affiliate of CREW Network, a global alliance of over 11,000 commercial real estate professionals.

Among numerous honors for professional and community service, Ezell was selected to the inaugural Fellowship Class of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar in 2008, named to the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2012, and designated a Florida Bar Leadership Academy Fellow in 2013. She has been recognized as a Jacksonville Business Journal “Woman of Influence” and as one of Jacksonville University’s “80 Dolphins to Know,” and, in addition to being recognized for excellence by Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers, was awarded the RPPTL Section’s 2018-2019 Rising Star Award.
